Certificate in Learning Islam Through Al-Quran (CLIQ)

Weekend Madrasah offers Islamic education totally in English for those who are not proficient in Malay. It has 3 levels:

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, students will have sound grasp of the fundamentals of Islamic knowledge and rational, logical and/or scientific arguments to support Islamic teachings.

LANGUAGE

This course is conducted fully in English.

Age 15 years and above

CLASS MODE

Class will be conducted online. Each session will be recorded and shared with students for the duration of the semester. This will assist those who are unable to attend the lecture.

DURATION

  • The duration of the course is 4 semesters (2 years).
  • Students can complete all 4 semesters consecutively or have breaks in between.
  • Students need not take all 4 semesters. They can take any semesters they wish.

FEES

Semester Fee
$250 / semester

Registration Fee
$20 / semester

ASSESSMENT

There is no exam for this course. Instead, grades will be given for submitted assessments. Submission is optional.

CERTIFICATE

Students who have more than 50% attendance for each semester will be awarded the CLIQ Certificate for that semester. Students who submit their assessments will have the grade reflected in that Certificate. ٍStudents who have successfully completed all 4 modules will be awarded with the full CLIQ certificate.

FURTHER STUDIES

Students who are able to understand Malay are encouraged to further their studies by following the course Pengajian Pendidikan Islam Lanjutan (PPIL).

REGISTRATION

Registration for new intakes closes at the end of January (for Sem 1) and end of July (for Sem 2) every year.
